I only make posts for important releases, so you might have missed some of the smaller bits of content from this month – so here they are, in one short, easy-to-digest post!
This month was pretty light on content as I was busy promoting Home-Field Advantage and trying to find a job – still got a couple cool things to show you though!
1. The Prophecy Domain Cleric
Ben of NevernotDM hosted another subclass design contest this month, and this is my entry, which got 3rd place.
The themes of foresight, fate, and sometimes luck are often represented by dice manipulation mechanics in D&D. And it makes sense, right? We use dice to decide our fates, and you manipulate the dice, so you manipulate fate.
However, as a designer, I find dice manipulation very dangerous. Dice are designed to be swingy because the uncertainty of their outcome is where the fun lies – take out the uncertainty, and you often end up taking out the fun.
So, for this subclass, I have tried to stay away from dice manipulation mechanics, and find other, more fun ways to make you feel like your character can predict the future in this game.
Between a core feature literally named “RetCon”, a Channel Divinity inspired by the initiative system from Stars Without Numbers, and a 6th level feature that makes save-or-suck spells suck less, there’s plenty of fun to be found in this subclass.
2. The Better Boss Battles Bundle
Bloodied & Bruised is a series of books on DMsGuild by Anne Gregersen, which grants monsters from the main 5e bestiaries new traits and new actions when they’re downed to half of their maximum hit points.
New cool abilities for all of our old favorite monsters… If this sounds familiar, it’s because that’s pretty much exactly what we set out to do with Home-Field Advantage, with our 240 pages of Lair Actions!
So, we decided to bundle the titles together. For only $2 more than if you got HFA alone, you can get it plus 112 pages of B&B.
If you’ve already picked up HFA, you can get the two volumes of B&B at a discount – and vice versa, if you already have B&B, you can get yourself a discounted copy of HFA!

3. Eyes of the Street
Continuing my series of old magic items I designed years ago, I present the street rat’s best friend.
This was in a shop ran by the local thieves’ guild – lots of exploration-focused magic items, so you can expect a few more like it!
What comes next?

- More free content, similar to what is listed above!
- Old Magics Reborn (working title), a supplement porting over 100 spells from older editions to 5e, and giving you tools to reintroduce these spells in a way that’s going to be a bit more interesting than just adding them to your PCs’ spell lists (Q1 2022)
- CharActor Studio, a web-based 3D character creation tool, with VTuber technology to apply a face-tracking and a hand-tracking algorithm to your D&D character (coming on Kickstarter 2022)
